Before joining Centro in 2019, Teri lived in American Samoa where she and her friends opened a school, Ta’iala Academy, that served children from preschool through 8th grade. The six years that Teri spent as a teacher and the principal of the school showed her the impact that high-quality education can have on low-income, remote, and underserved children and families.

Upon returning to Utah, Teri’s goal was to find a way to continue providing the best educational opportunities to children in need and Centro was the ideal fit. Teri has a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing with a minor in Women’s Studies from Mississippi University for Women. She enjoys a good argument, spending time with her family, and reading or watching anything that makes her cry and laugh in equal measure.
